Let’s face it: the aligner market is crowded and dentistry is compartmentalized. How do you navigate the products, systems, scanners, education, training, and chairside management to deliver exceptional orthodontics in-house? The same autonomy and independence doctors value is also a hurdle when it comes to diversifying your practice and providing orthodontic treatment plans. You can do ortho and you should do ortho, but you shouldn’t do it alone. We believe in collaboration, communication, and transparency to provide the best orthodontic care in the world without the learning curve and headaches. In this CE webinar, learn how you can access all orthodontic resources and materials, including a virtual ABO Board-Certified orthodontist, on one easy platform to optimize your modern practice and patient experience.

Anxiety, pain, depression, burnout. Dentistry can be difficult and take a toll. Studies show us that dental professionals experience a high incidence of mental illness. Additionally, many dental professionals don’t clearly understand the mental health conditions that our patients present with, which red flags to watch for, or what to do/how to intervene.
Presented in Dr. Joshua Austin’s trademark comedic style, this CE webinar explores strategies for working together to improve mental health so we can be our best.
Learn how to recognize triggers and warning signs. Identify essential tools and resources. Discover how and when to refer to a mental health professional. Explore
and understand mental health terms, common treatments and therapy options. Gain coping mechanisms and learn how to manage expectations – both our own and those of our patients. Dental professionals often examine the physical aspects of wellness yet we rarely explore or discuss the mental aspects. It is time to remove the taboo and face the facts.

Deep Marginal Elevations (DME) can be very technique sensitive. Often times if the curing light cannot reach the restorative material due to sheer depth, we must come up with an alternative solution. Dual cured restorative materials have answered that puzzle. Dual cured materials are often misunderstood in the daily routine of a restorative dentist. This is mainly due to the clinician’s high comfort level with traditional light cured composite resins as their “go-to” material. During this CE webinar, I will explain the different mechanics between light cured versus dual cured materials and the role each has on stresses created and the impact on bonding. Then I will give a step by step systematic approach in using a dual cured material to obtain predictable and repeatable results when performing DME procedures. Finally, I will show clinical examples of Deep Marginal Elevations with dual cured materials and tips and tricks help obtain the desired result.
On the surface, you might wonder what dentistry and aviation have in common. Dr. Rene Ghotanian, who is both an implantologist and certified pilot, will take you from pre-flight checklists to successful case outcomes which demonstrate how these fields share parallels in rigorous safety protocols, advanced technological adoption for precision and improved patient outcomes, and a focus on continuous innovation to enhance patient experience and treatment effectiveness.
Health inequities persist for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Individuals with developmental disabilities experience poorer oral health and challenges accessing dental care. Historically, dental curriculum did not require training dental professionals on how to care for and manage treatment of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Providers often report feeling unprepared to care for this population. This course will evaluate the current barriers to care, identify complex factors contributing to oral health and equip the dental provider with strategies to improve patient care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

So how do we elevate our practice and what does elevating our practice do for our career, business and patients. It actually does quite a lot. For one, it helps with employee retention. A recent poll showed that the number one reason why a dental hygienist leaves a dental practice is because the practice is not innovative, it's doing the same ol same ol and they feel they are stuck in a rut, not learning anything new. nor are they trying new techniques and products. Also part of our episode today is talking about incorporating diagnostics into our practice. Instead of rushing through the medical history and moving right to our scaling, root planing and prophies, we should dedicate time to diagnostic testing, getting to the root cause of the problem. As our guest Amanda Hill will explain, diagnostic testing is a game-changer for the practice and not only builds trust between the practice and the patient, but also drives revenue to a whole new level.

Part of the strategy of a successful practice, as our guest points out, is to get the patient to become part of the conversation. This of course helps with case acceptance and patient satisfaction. We'll be talking about the importance of cusp protection in our restorations and why it's so important to consider a crown versus composite restorative. We'll also discuss how the standardization of dental materials within a given practice helps improve efficiency and productivity.
Dr. Derse is a mentor at the Kois Center in Seattle, WA and has lectured internationally on cosmetics, restorative dentistry, aligner therapy, and case presentation and acceptance.

So, how do we determine the best course of action? To tell us all about it is our guest is Dr. Carla Cohn. She is a general dentist, devoted solely to the practice of dentistry for children. She owns and operates Kids Sleep Dentistry Winnipeg, a private practice at Western Surgery Centre in Canada. Dr. Cohn has recently founded Lit Smile Academy, a continuing dental education company.
